Kruggel Lawton CPAs, a regional full-service accounting and business advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Cody Newport, CPA, has been promoted to partner in the firm’s audit and assurance practice effective January 1, 2024. This appointment brings the total number of partners at Kruggel Lawton to 16.

Newport has more than 10 years of experience and focuses mainly on audit, review, and compilation engagements. He is well-versed in a variety of industries, with a primary focus on manufacturing and distribution clients. His depth of knowledge allows him to expertly serve clients of all sizes. He also assists the firm’s employee benefit plan group in performing audits of 401(k) and pension plans as well as auditing and consulting with employee stock ownership plans.

Newport has a B.S.B.A. with a focus in Accounting and Finance from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Ind. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS). Additionally, Newport is an INCPAS Young Pros Leadership Academy graduate and was named an Emerging Leader in 2022. Outside of work, Cody is a board member and current treasurer for Goshen Community Schools Foundation and is also a board member for the Goshen Public Library of which he was past president. Cody enjoys spending time with his wife and four kids, especially at Disney World, watching football and hockey, and supporting Goshen High School athletics.
