Kruggel Lawton is proud to announce that Barry Hall, CPA, CGMA, and Kate Leichty, CPA, have once again been named to Forbes’ Best‑in‑State CPAs list, earning this prestigious distinction for the second consecutive year. This continued recognition reflects their exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and steadfast commitment to serving clients and advancing the accounting profession.
Forbes’ Best‑in‑State CPAs list highlights top Certified Public Accountants across the country through a rigorous evaluation process that includes nominations from the business community, independent research, and review by Forbes’ editorial team.

Hall serves as Managing Partner at Kruggel Lawton, a role he has held since 2013. Under his leadership and with the support of the partner group, the firm has experienced sustained growth, expanded its geographic footprint, and strengthened its reputation as a leading accounting and advisory firm. Focusing on client service, operational excellence, and long‑term strategy has helped position the firm for continued success amid the increasing challenges facing business owners, organizations, and individuals.
In 2024, Hall was also recognized nationally by Forbes as one of its Top 200 CPAs in America, further underscoring his influence and credibility within the profession. Together, these honors reflect his ability to lead at both the state and national levels while maintaining a strong commitment to clients, colleagues, and the broader business community.
“It’s incredibly meaningful to be recognized by Forbes again,” said Hall. “This honor truly reflects the strength of our entire firm. I’m grateful for the support of my fellow partners and the dedication of our team, whose collaboration and commitment make recognitions like this possible.”
Hall holds an active Indiana CPA license and is a member of the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He is a past President of INCPAS, a current member of the AICPA Council, Chair of the Board of Directors for Granger Community Church, Board Treasurer of Downtown South Bend, and a member of the Beacon Health System Audit Committee.

Leichty, who was promoted to partner in 2023, continues to be a trusted advisor on tax law changes and mergers and acquisitions. She is a strong advocate for mentorship and professional development within the firm and plays an active role in KLWIN (Kruggel Lawton Women’s Initiative Network). Known for her commitment to cultivating future leaders, Leichty takes pride in fostering a culture of learning, inclusion, and growth that supports both team members and clients.
“It’s an honor to be recognized again among such a respected group of professionals,” said Leichty. “I’m thankful for the trust of my clients and colleagues and proud to be part of a firm that invests so deeply in its people and its future.”
Leichty holds an active Indiana CPA license and is a member of INCPAS, AICPA, and the California Society of CPAs. She serves on the Board of Directors for Everence Financial, where she also chairs the Governance Committee, and is Treasurer for the Goshen Theater.
The repeat inclusion of Hall and Leichty on Forbes’ Best‑in‑State CPAs list reflects Kruggel Lawton’s ongoing commitment to excellence, leadership, and client service.
